SUNDAY CARD CANCELED AFTER SECOND RACE
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (May 29, 2011) – The Sunday racing program at Arlington Park was canceled following the second race when the jockeys chose not to ride. Fans in attendance were given free admission coupons to use at any time during the remainder of the meet.
“We felt the weather would continue to get better, which it did but the jockeys felt otherwise,” said Arlington Park General Manager Tony Petrillo. “We are deeply disappointed in their decision. We regret that our customers, owners and trainers were inconvenienced. We just want to move forward and focus on a great day of racing tomorrow.”
Racing at Arlington Park will resume Monday, May 30 at 1 pm for a special Memorial Day holiday card.
