SURAJ NARREDU SCORES FIRST AMERICAN WIN
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (May 29, 2011) – Jockey Suraj Narredu, a winner of more than 1,000 races in his native India, tallied his first North American victory when he guided Al Ali’s Invisible Star to a 1 ½-length score in the first race at Arlington Park on Sunday.
“He broke out well and was in ideal position the whole way,” Narraedu said. “He opened up in the stretch and went very well for me. This is a very big moment for me.”
Narredu, 26, began his career at the BARI riding school in Bangalore as a 12-year-old and has been riding professionally for eight years.
Arlington Park – the Chicago area’s premier Thoroughbred racetrack located in Arlington Heights, Ill. – will run an 86-day meet in 2011 from Friday, May 6 through Sunday, Sept. 25.
