TRACKSIDE OFF TRACK BETTING SPRING HANDICAPPING CONTEST SERIES RETURNS SATURDAYS IN APRIL;

Weekly Winners to Compete for Horse Players World Series Berth

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (March 9, 2011) – Arlington Park will offer live money handicapping contests on four Saturdays in April at all Illinois Trackside Off Track Betting locations. Each weekly winner from each location will get a chance to compete for a berth in Coast Casino's Horseplayer World Series to be held in the winter of 2012.

All players need to do to participate is purchase a $50 contest wagering card at the Twin Spires Club Center at each location on day of each contest and play a minimum of five races from that day’s card at Hawthorne Race Course (or that day’s card from Arlington Park at the series final).

Each contest will be organic to a typical day at the track, meaning that players will have the flexibility to wager in more pools (Win, Place, Show, Exacta, Trifecta, Superfecta, and multi-race wagers such as the Pick 3 and Pick 4) than in most other contests and have freedom to participate from any location within any Illinois Trackside Off Track Betting facility as there is no need for assigned contest wagering windows. However, all wagers must be made using the contest card at self service terminals only. Contestants may invest winnings from contest races into future contest wagers. For complete contest rules, visit Arlington Park’s Web site at www.arlingtonpark.com.

In a new twist for 2011 to allow more people to participate in the contest series, qualifying rounds will be held simultaneously at each of Arlington Park’s 11 Trackside Off-Track Betting facilities. The weekly qualifying round winner crowned at each location will receive a monetary prize of $100 plus a spot in the Spring Series Final to be held at Arlington Park on Saturday, May 14. The winner of the Series Final on May 14 will earn a berth in Coast Casino's Horseplayer World Series and an expense-paid trip to Las Vegas. In addition, a weekly bonus of $300 will be awarded to the contest player with the highest total score across the network of Illinois Trackside facilities.

Contest dates for the Spring 2011 Handicapping Contest Series are as follows:

Qualifying Round 1: Saturday, April 2
Qualifying Round 2: Saturday, April 9
Qualifying Round 3: Saturday, April 23
Qualifying Round 4: Saturday, April 30
Spring Series Final: Saturday, May 14 at Arlington Park*
* Offers a first-place prize of a trip to the Coast Casinos Horseplayer World Series.

Participating Illinois Trackside facilities are: Trackside Arlington Park (Arlington Heights), Trackside Chicago, Trackside Quad City Downs (East Moline), Trackside Waukegan, Sundance Saloon featuring Trackside OTB in Waukegan, Shooters Bar & Grill at Don Carter Lanes featuring Trackside Rockford, Fat Sam’s Bar & Grill featuring Trackside OTB in Lockport, Stanley’s Ale House featuring Trackside OTB in South Elgin, Nicolino’s featuring Trackside OTB in McHenry, TADS Sports Bar & Grill featuring Trackside OTB in South Beloit and Salerno-Pincente Ristorante featuring Trackside OTB in Hodgkins.

For scoring purposes, the Trackside facility on Green Bay Road in Waukegan and the facility located within Sundance Saloon in Waukegan will be considered one location.

Additional Trackside OTB Contest Series are planned for the summer and fall.

Information regarding this summer’s on-track tournament schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.
