DELCO WILLOBEE LOOKS TO MAKE IT THREE STRAIGHT IN GOSOX STAKE

Delco Willobee
Delco Willobee, who is two for two in 2010 for owner-trainer Jesse De Long and driver John De Long, will look to keep his perfect record intact when he goes postward in Friday's $9,000 Gosox Stake at Maywood Park.
Jesse De Long’s Delco Willobee will look to make it three straight wins to open his second season as he leads a field of seven Illinois conceived and foaled three-year-old pacing colts postward in Friday’s $9,000 Gosox Stake at Maywood Park.

Fresh off an impressive victory in the Taser Gun stake here on April 30, this son of Ft. Apache Hanover has been installed at odds of 7-2 in the morning line. In his latest score the good looking gelding overcame a troubled trip and a slight a miscue on a sloppy racetrack to win by a length in 1:56.4. He opened his 2010 campaign with an impressive come from behind victory in the Sportsmaster stake where he tripped the timer in a career best of 1:56.0. Delco Willobee now boasts 10 wins and three seconds in 14 lifetime starts with earnings of just over $24,000.

The John Butenschoen-trained Indescribable is the 9-5 morning line favorite in the race after posting a sharp two-length victory in 1:53.3 in an ISOBA stake at Balmoral Park on May 8. The altered son of Cole Muffler opened his three-year-old campaign on the east coast where he ran into some very tough older rivals, but he turned things in a big way in his first start against state-bred company in that ISOBA stake. A five-time winner in 18 career outings, Indescribable is the leading money earner in the field with a bankroll of $46,104.

Jeffery Sanders' JHS turned some heads last week at Balmoral Park as he scored a decisive victory in a blazing 1:51.3 for driver Mike Rogers in a three-year-old event and he figures to get plenty of attention tonight. The Tom Simmons-trained gelding had been 0 for 4 in 2010 leading up to that start, but he used a wicked 26.3 final quarter to blow right by the field for his first win of the season. The son of Richess Hanover was a six-time winner in 12 starts during his freshman campaign and he boasts earnings of almost $22,000 in 17 lifetime starts.

Rounding out the field are Ucallthatanexcuse, NJ’s Super Charger, Finance The Master and Burnthemidnightoil.

Post time every Thursday and Friday at Maywood Park is 7:10 pm (central). For more information visit www.maywoodpark.com or call (708) 343-4800.
