“QUICK START” HAVING IMMEDIATE IMPACT AT MAYWOOD!

The new “quick start” in which horses are turned loose about 175 feet before the old starting point, thus giving horses saddled with outside post positions a better shot of being a factor in races, appears to be having an immediate impact on the results of the races here at Maywood Park.

Over the 25 races contested last week at Maywood Park, horses starting in the seven and/or eight posts still managed to be part of the trifecta a whopping 16 times.

Included in the winners from posts seven or eight was Racy Traci Place, who captured last Thursday’s sixth race from the seven-hole and lit up the board at $67.80. That also produced an all-all superfecta as the combination of 7-4-all-all was paid out on.

The biggest fireworks were produced on Friday’s card as one lucky patron toted home one of the largest $1 trifecta payouts in recent Maywood Park history, cashing for $11,777.50. Even with the rail horse winning the race the number seven (9-1) and eight horse (45-1) followed up the pole sitter to produce a 1-7-8 combination and a huge payday for the patron at Lucky Magee’s in Joliet, Ill.

Later that evening the ninth race produced another big payday even with 3-5 favorite winning the race. The seven horse (30-1) managed to finish second in the race while the eight horse (24-1) was third producing a payout of $1896.60 on the 2-8-7 combination.

Don’t be afraid to include those outside horses now that the“Quick Start” is producing BIG PAYOUTS here at Maywood Park.

Post time every Thursday and Friday at Maywood Park will be at 7:10 pm (central). For more information visit www.maywoodpark.com or call (708) 343-4800.
