Horsemen: It should come as no surprise to you that horseracing in Illinois is dying due to a lack of a level playing field with neighboring states that have slots at tracks. On track handle has dropped so significantly over the last two years that Thoroughbred tracks will cease operations in the near future.
The ITHA and the industry have committed to change this broken model with a slots at track bill which is supported by senior legislative leaders.
On Monday, November 8, we are asking Thoroughbred horsemen and harness horsemen to engage in a rally to save our industries.
In attendance will be ITHA and IHHA leadership, as well as Hawthorne, Arlington Park, and Maywood-Balmoral managements.
If you care about yourself, your family, your future, BE HEARD! Only horsemen can save this horse industry and we will prevail because we are the most dedicated work force in America.
