Full fields at Hawthorne between Breeders' Cup races
We are only one day away from the start of the Breeders’ Cup World Thoroughbred Championships and Hawthorne is a great place to watch all of the racing action. With the Breeders’ Cup action taking place at Churchill, we will have an earlier post both Friday and Saturday with a Friday post of 1:45 pm and a Saturday start at 12:35 pm. Our Hawthorne races will run in between those from Churchill as we are well represented throughout the Friday Breeders’ Cup card. For those that are unable to make the Breeders’ Cup races here on Saturday, you can pre-wager the entire Saturday card from Churchill tomorrow.
In between the Breeders’ Cup Races, we have a pair of tremendous wagering cards for both Friday and Saturday right here at Hawthorne. Each day we are averaging more than 11 starters per race and there looks to be quite a few races that offer great value. There are a few tables left for reservations each day for the Breeders’ Cup action. To reserve a table, contact us at 708-780-5030.

Featured Race of the Day
The eighth race on Thursday is a fine Optional Claiming Allowance sprint with a field of nine to head to the gate. This was a tough spot to peg a winner but I looked to the stalker #2 – Stellsie as she makes her Hawthorne debut. I am a bit reluctant with her as she has never been a great morning drill horse but that tendency has carried over here. That being said, the Ness barn is heating up quickly and she performed extremely well in her first start back off the layoff. She is worth the look today.
