Hawthorne announces no slaughter policy, funding for retirement

Hawthorne Race Course is proud to announce a partnership with the Illinois Thoroughbred Horsemen's Assn. (ITHA) to fund the Galloping Out program, which will transition retiring Thoroughbreds to new careers.

Hawthorne is a no slaughter facility, with zero tolerance in regards to abuse or neglect of horses.

If you have a horse that is unable to race or any reason and needs a home, please contact the ITHA at 708-652-2201 or itharacing.com for details regarding our retirement program.
