Illinois Derby BIG EVENT RaceChat Friday night!

Get a jump on your Illinois Derby handicapping. A fantastic field of Kentucky Derby hopefuls will enter the Hawthorne starting gate on Saturday, April 3, and Friday night, April 2, from 7 to 8 pm CDT, Horse Player NOW will conduct a special BIG EVENT Illinois Derby preview chat. Joe Kristufek will be joined by Hawthorne analysts Jim Miller and Katie Mikolay to break down all the contenders for the Illinois Derby, the inaugural Cryptoclearance Stakes and other top races on what promises to be a sensational Saturday's card.

You can access Hawthorne RaceChats through horseplayernow.com, hawthorneracecourse.com, and barntowire.com.

Ask questions and share your opinions with the Joe, Jim, Katie and other horseplayers from across the country.

  • Analyzing past performances.
  • Discussing pace scenarios.
  • Watching the odds.
  • Examining the horses in the post parade.
