Hawthorne's Horseplay for Charity Party in the Legendary Turf Club and You're Invited!

Hawthorne Race Course and The Skinny & Houli show on radio station 950 The Avenue would like for everyone to join them for a party to help raise money for charity. The tickets are only $25 per person, which includes a 3 1/2 hour buffet (cash bar available) and part of the proceeds will go to the charities previously featured on-air the last month. The party will take place in the historical Turf Club from 12:30 - 4 pm, where you can enjoy the best seats in the house to watch live horse racing. We have a nine races beginning at 1:35 pm on Saturday. One more thing, each person to purchase a ticket and/or donates will be automatically be entered to win a private party at Hawthorne at a later date. This weekend, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Hawthorne also will be holding a food drive to benefit the Racing Industry Charitable Foundation (RICF). Bring a non-perishable food item: canned goods, pasta, cereal, rice, etc. and you will receive free admission including live racing program.Drop off your food item at Guest Services.

The festivities for Illinois Derby weekend begins on Friday, April 2 with the 97.9 Loop Rock Girl search. Thirty-two contenders will compete for the title of 2010 Loop Rock Girl and will be rockin' at Hawthorne all afternoon during live horse racing. Live broadcast from 3-7 pm with 97.9 the Loop radio station as well. That's not all! You can join ESPN1000 upstairs in the Turf Club while you enjoy a 3 hour buffet and house bar package for only $30 per person ($40 at door.) Tickets are available on our website at www.Hawthorneracecourse.com. There's much more to get excited about as we bring back $2 Fridays ($2 Bud lights; $2 admission; $2 food specials). The first 500 people to arrive after 10:30 am on Friday will receive an exclusive Illinois Derby T-Shirt.

The following day on Saturday, the most anticipated race is finally here, the $500,000 Grade III Illinois Derby. The last eight winners headed to the Kentucky Derby. Reserve a suite or table by calling #708-780-3733. Hurry as we will SELL OUT. You will also get to witness the debut of the Cryptoclearance Stakes. Older males will compete for $50,000 going a mile and sixteenth. Live broadcast with TVG. Pick up your $1 raffle tickets to help raise money for Permanently Disabled Jockey's Fund in the 50/50 Raffle.
