March Madness is Here, Spring is in the Air, and the Illinois Derby is Near!
This week's weather has been gorgeous to make it a perfect day to enjoy live horse racing. It may become a little cooler come this weekend, but I believe there's nothing better to do then watch basketball and wager on races as we have nine races on Friday and nine races on Saturday. Come join in the fun!
The 53rd running of the Illinois Derby Grade III for $500,000 is only a few weeks away on Saturday, April 3. This is Chicago's only Derby prep race and you can watch it live. Reserve your seats in the Gold Cup Dining Room today by calling 708-780-3733. You may also book a party in one of our luxury suites located on the third floor, which provides some of the best seats in the house. TVG will be here with a live remote on both Friday and Saturday.
Gentlemen and fans of the Loop 97.9 radio, once again we will have the Loop Rock Girl Search at Hawthorne on Friday, April 2, which is the day before Illinois Derby. There will be a money cash cube contest during the races that day. Also the first 500 guests after 10:30 am will receive a T-shirt so make plans to get here early.
Looking to earn some extra cash? Make sure to stop by Guest Services to enter into the 50/50 raffle drawing. The drawing will be held after Race 8 on Illinois Derby day and the winner does not need to be present. You will have a chance to win half the jackpot and the other half will go to the Permanently Disabled Jockey's Fund.
