Hawthorne Racecourse Joins HorseplayerNOW.com Chat Line-Up

Illinois Thoroughbred track to be featured on Tuesdays through the end of April; Pair of Big Event Friday night chats to focus on the Illinois Derby and Illinois Champions Day

Hawthorne Racecourse in suburban Chicago, Illinois, is the latest track to join the Horse Player NOW RaceChat family. Beginning March 9, Hawthorne's live racing card will be featured every Tuesday, and "Big Event" chats highlighting the Illinois Derby and Illinois Champions Day will be presented April 2 and April 23, the Friday nights preceding those key race days.

"Tuesday is a light day in simulcast land, and the goal is to expose horseplayers nationwide to the Hawthorne product," said Horse Player NOW's Joe Kristufek, who has worked as an analyst in the Chicago market for 18 years. "The Big Event chats will give fans an opportunity to ask questions and share opinions on two of Illinois most anticipated racing days. As a Chicago guy, I'm thrilled to be working with my hometown track."

The RaceChats are sponsored by Hawthorne Racecourse, the Illinois Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association and XpressBet. The Tuesday Hawthorne and Big Event RaceChats can be accessed at www.hawthorneracecourse.com, www.horseplayernow.com and www.xpressbet.com.

As time permits, Hawthorne racing analysts Jim Miller, Ron Uchman and Katie Mikolay and track announcer Peter Galassi will join the Hawthorne Racechats to offer an on-site perspective. As an added benefit to Chicago racing fans, Hawthorne racing will be featured during Horse Player NOW HaPpY HoUr chats on Wednesdays and Fridays, and Miller's twitter feed "HawthorneJim" will be simulcast in the Santa Anita and Gulfstream RaceChats on all of the Illinois track's live racing days. In his "tweets," Miller will break down track trends, and offer up paddock and post parade observations.

"I am excited that Hawthorne is aligning with Horse Player NOW to conduct these chats," said Miller, who also serves as the track's assistant general manager. "With their expertise and our inside information, I think we can provide RaceChat participants with value plays throughout the Hawthorne meet."

HorseplayerNOW.com and its analysts offer live horse racing information and analysis in real time nearly every race day, including the popular XpressBet RaceChat presentations of Santa Anita, Gulfstream Park and Remington Park live racing. Horse Player NOW is co-owned, managed and operated by lifelong racing enthusiasts who share worlds of combined experience working on the inside of the industry. They bring an array of insight with the approach of the horseplayer first. After all, that's how they got started in the business and it's what continues to drive them today.
