Balmoral Pick 4 average pool up 62 percent in 2010 with 15 percent takeout

Below is the average Pick 4 pool for the 2010 season through September 30. Balmoral Park reduced takeout from 25 percent to 15 percent on the Pick 4 wager this year, a reduction of 40 percent. The idea was that the players would respond to the new value of our wager which increased the payout 13.3 percent.

Whether you are in the Thoroughbred industry or the harness industry, the thought of a wager trending up 62 percent over last year in this economy is certainly worth talking about. I hope you agree.
