Arlington Park Bugler Jean Laurenz Finalist for You Tube Symphony Orchestra 2011

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (Dec. 17, 2010) – Arlington Park bugler Jean Laurenz has been selected as a finalist for the You Tube Symphony Orchestra 2011. The classically trained musician is one of 12 trumpeters selected for this honor.

Laurenz, who became Arlington's bugler in 2008, was selected by the symphony's judges from thousands of video submissions from which the best and most creative performers will be selected to form the YouTube Symphony Orchestra 2011 and invited to perform in March at the Sydney Opera House, under the direction of world-renowned conductor and YouTube Symphony Artistic Advisor, Michael Tilson Thomas.

The winners will be selected by fan voting, which is taking place now at www.youtube.com/symphony. To vote, once at the Web site, simply click on vote, then selected the “orchestral audition” tab, click on the picture of the trumpet, select Ms. Laurenz' video (which is 4:01 in length) and click on the “vote for this video” button. Fans may vote once per day per computer.

Laurenz will begin her fourth season as Arlington's bugler when the track opens for the 2011 season on Friday, May 6.

Arlington Park – the Chicago area’s premier Thoroughbred racetrack located in Arlington Heights, Ill. – will run an 86-day meet in 2011 from Friday, May 6 through Sunday, Sept. 25.
