FIRST ARLINGTON PARK CONDITION BOOK FOR 2010 AVAILABLE ONLINE

Book #1 Covers April 29 through May 15

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (April 2, 2010) – The first condition book for Arlington Park’s 2010 racing season, which opens Thursday, April 29, has been posted on the track’s Website (www.arlingtonpark.com). Hard copies of Book 1 will be available early next week.

Condition Book 1, the first penned by Arlington park’s new Director of Racing and Racing Secretary Christian Polzin, covers the meet’s first 11 racing days – Thursday, April 29 through Saturday, May 15 and includes the meet’s first two stakes races - $100,000 divisions of the Illinois Owners Stakes, one for each sex.

The track’s stable area, which can house 2,140 horses in 35 barns, opens Monday, April 12 with both the main track and training track open for training two days later on Wednesday, April 14.

Entries for opening day, Thursday, April 29, will be taken on Sunday, April 25. The opening day card will be highlighted by the Undercover Boss tribute race named in honor of the late Megan Rice, the daughter of longtime Arlington Park valet Kenny Rice. Rice’s story was one of several told on the March 14 episode of the CBS television series “Undercover Boss,” when Churchill Downs Incorporated Chief Operating Officer Bill Carstanjen was filmed undercover at Arlington Park and other CDI properties.

Arlington Park – the Chicago area’s premier Thoroughbred racetrack located in Arlington Heights, Ill. – will run a 91-day meet in 2010 from Thursday, April 29 through Sunday, Sept. 26. Arlington Park, whose parent company is Churchill Downs Incorporated (Nasdaq: CHDN), also operates 10 off-track, simulcast-wagering facilities: Trackside Arlington Park (Arlington Heights), Trackside Chicago, Trackside Quad City Downs (East Moline), Trackside Waukegan, Shooters Bar & Grill at Don Carter Lanes featuring Trackside Rockford, Fat Sam’s Bar & Grill featuring Trackside OTB in Lockport, Lucky’s featuring Trackside OTB in South Elgin, Nicolino’s featuring Trackside OTB in McHenry, Tad’s Sports Bar & Grill featuring Trackside OTB in South Beloit and Salerno-Pincente Ristorante featuring Trackside OTB in Hodgkins. Information on Arlington Park can be found online at www.arlingtonpark.com.
