Three Distinct Packages Available for Individuals, Families and Horse Players

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (March 17, 2010) – Arlington Park, which introduced a season-long membership program on a limited basis last year, has announced an expanded “Arlington Racing Club” for 2010 with three different packages designed to offer an individual or family significant savings.

Each Arlington Racing Club package for 2010 includes a season pass (valid daily except Arlington Million Day on Saturday, Aug. 21), preferred parking, guest passes available for one-time use, additional special offers, access to ARC Member Only reserved seating areas in the Park and on the Apron, and an invitation to special member’s only events.

The individual package, which has a total value of more than $1,200, is available for just $99.99, while the family package, which includes two season passes and has a value of more than $1,900, can be purchased for $169.99.

New for 2010 is the Player package, which in addition to the above amenities includes: a choice of a free simulcast or Illinois racing program; a free simulcast center seat at the track; and access for the member into the Gold Club VIP Room at the track. The player package has a total value of more than $3,000 and can be purchased for just $499.99.

“We introduced the Arlington Racing Club on a limited basis last year and those memberships sold out quickly,” said Arlington Park President Roy Arnold in announcing the expanded 2010 program. “While a day at Arlington Park has always offered one of the best values on the Chicagoland sports landscape, these season membership packages offer our frequent visitors additional value as well as special opportunities not otherwise offered.”

A number of new amenities are available for 2010 ARC members including the “ARC in the Park” seating area – limited availability, members only picnic benches in the Park area; and the “ARC on the Apron” – a covered, members only seating area on the track apron.

In addition, there will be no fewer than six ARC Member Events during the 2010 season:

  • ARC Welcome Party to be held in May
  • ARC Members Only Breakfast at Arlington on July 24 where ARC members can enjoy a delicious buffet while watching the morning workouts
  • Members only meet and greet with a to be determined Chicago Blackhawks Legend on Blackhawks Legend Day on Thursday, July 29
  • ARC Behind the Scenes Day to feature a tour of the paddock, winner’s circle and starting gate on Sunday, Aug. 8
  • ARC End of Season Party to be held in September
  • ARC Members Only Breeders’ Cup Day Party to be held at Arlington on Nov. 6.

Plus, Arlington Park is working with its promotional partners to develop excusive offers for ARC members to include members only access to other Chicagoland events and venues including tickets for Chicago Fire Major League Soccer games, Brookfield Zoo passes, tickets to Schaumburg Flyers baseball games and passes to Legoland.

There will also be special monthly offers for ARC members including 15 percent off Group Sales bookings in May, free appetizers in the Paddock Pub during June, a members only “Meal Deal” at Cobey’s Food Court in July, upgrades to standard box seats in August and free seating or appetizer in the Million Room during September.

Membership in the Arlington Racing Club can be purchased online at, and those packages will be mailed out beginning the first week of April. Additionally, ARC members can link their membership card to their wagering account rather than carry separate cards for each.

In addition, season box seats remain on sale while inventory lasts. Season boxes, many of which include a television set in the box, vary in size from three seats to eight seats and can be purchased using either the Choice Program or Premium Program option. Prices for season boxes range from $940 to $3,762 in the Choice Program and from $1,045 to $4,200 in the Premium Program. Those prices are unchanged from 2009.

The Choice Program option gives the box-holder greater flexibility in use of the box while allowing Arlington Park the opportunity to re-sell that unused box and share those proceeds with the box holder if the track is notified in advance that it will be unused for the day, while the Premium Program option gives the box holder exclusive use of the box for the entire meet except Arlington Million Day. Guests wishing to purchase a season box should contact Diane Collopy in our Sales department at 847-385-7790.

Arlington Park – the Chicago area’s premier Thoroughbred racetrack located in Arlington Heights, Ill. – will run a 91-day meet in 2010 from Thursday, April 29 through Sunday, Sept. 26. Arlington Park, whose parent company is Churchill Downs Incorporated (Nasdaq: CHDN), also operates 10 off-track, simulcast-wagering facilities: Trackside Arlington Park (Arlington Heights), Trackside Chicago, Trackside Quad City Downs (East Moline), Trackside Waukegan, Shooters Bar & Grill at Don Carter Lanes featuring Trackside Rockford, Fat Sam’s Bar & Grill featuring Trackside OTB in Lockport, Lucky’s featuring Trackside OTB in South Elgin, Nicolino’s featuring Trackside OTB in McHenry, Tad’s Sports Bar & Grill featuring Trackside OTB in South Beloit and Salerno-Pincente Ristorante featuring Trackside OTB in Hodgkins.
