DRIVER OF THE NIGHT SERIES STARTS TONIGHT

Fans at Maywood Park on Friday night will have the chance to meet and greet 2008 driving champion Sam Widger. Widger will be making his way around the clubhouse, dining room and grandstand at Maywood between 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm chatting with fans about the sport, answering questions and best of all hopefully giving fans a winner!

The personable reinsman, who has just made his way back from a finger injury, will be handing out tickets with his “Best Bet” of the night on them. If the horse that Widger is driving wins that particular race fans will be able to redeem those tickets for a free beer, wine, mixed drink, coffee or soda right after the race.

Mike Oosting

Balmoral Park will also be involved in the promotion with three-time driving champion Mike Oosting greeting fans between 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm on Saturday night at the Crete oval. Oosting will also be giving out coupons with his “Best Bet” for the Saturday night card on them and once again if the horse that Oosting is driving comes home a winner fans with tickets will be able to redeem them for a free beverage.

The Driver of the Night Series will continue on selected weekends throughout the summer at both tracks.
