The first ever Pepe’s Taco Eating Contest was held at Balmoral Park on Saturday August 1.

This official M.L.E. (Major League of Eating) event featured four of the world’s top ranked professional eaters. The eaters had 5 minutes to put down as many Pepe’s soft tacos as possible.

#2 ranked professional eater and Chicago native Patrick “Deep Dish” Bertoletti won the event after smashing 33 tacos in the allowed time. The 33 beef tacos which were topped with lettuce, cheese and tomatoes are equivalent to 9.24 lbs.

Results and Participants were as follows:
#2 World Ranked - Patrick “Deep Dish” Bertoletti – 33 tacos
#10 World Ranked - Tim “Gravy” Brown – 28 tacos
#15 World Ranked - Erik ‘The Red” Denmark – 25 tacos
#19 World Ranked - Nasty Nathan Biller - 19 tacos
ESPN 1000 Host - John Jurkovic – 11 tacos
Local Qualifier - Marc Brewe - 7 tacos
Local Qualifier - Danny Ashworth 6.5 tacos
