ARLINGTON FATHER’S DAY ATTENDANCE TOPS 30,000 MARK
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (June 21, 2009) – Buoyed by strong advanced online sales including the track’s entire reserved seat inventory and more than 6,000 general admission purchases, Arlington Park’s Father’s Day attendance topped the 30,000 mark at 32,602 making it the largest on-track Father’s Day crowd in the country.
“Spending Father’s Day at Arlington Park has become a Chicagoland tradition,” said Arlington Park President Roy Arnold. “Everything came together perfectly with nice weather, great promotions and competitive racing which made Arlington Park one of the best places for families to spend the holiday together. Clearly our loyal fan base has embraced having the ability to easily purchase their admission and seats online – especially on our major days.
“I am really pleased with the success of online ticketing,” he continued. “Because of the high anticipated demand for our other marquee event days – July 3, Million Preview Day July 11 and Arlington Million Day Aug. 8 – I strongly recommend our customers consider using our online ticketing to reserve seats before they sell out.”
On Friday, July 3, Arlington Park will present a Racing, Music and Fireworks event with a special late afternoon post time of 4 pm featuring a 10-race card, live music by Four Man Band and B.O.T.T. and concluding with the suburbs’ biggest fireworks celebration.
General admission for this event is just $3 when purchased in advance online and only $5 at the gate on race day. This is an exclusive ticketed event with online sales concluding at 6 pm on July 3 and the box office closing at 7:30 pm.
