Pick Six reaches Hawthorne All-time high $96,932

Wager begins with Saturday’s fifth race

Stickney, IL – As if everyday at Hawthorne isn’t a treat, you get an added bonus on Saturday, December 20, when the Pick Six begins the day with a carryover of $96,932.

The carryover is the largest in Hawthorne history.

From the first race in Friday’s Pick Six sequence, the chances of nobody hitting the exotic wager grew dramatically when Dangerous Gal lit up the board to the tune of $245.00 to win. From there the favorites continued to take a beating and by the time the seventh race was official, the carryover was cemented.

The Saturday Pick Six will start in race five and continue through race ten.

Post time for the first leg will be approximately 3:30 pm.

The Estate of Thomas Carey has owned and operated Hawthorne Race Course for 100 years, distinguishing it as the oldest continuously family-owned and operated race track in the nation. As the oldest sports venue in Illinois, Hawthorne Race Course has been an integral player in the legendary heritage of Chicago sports entertainment. Hawthorne Race Course began its Fall/Winter Thoroughbred meet on Friday, September 26, 2008 and will continue through January 11, 2009. Post time is 1:35 pm central time for all live racing.
