Frog Dooley Comes Home A Winner Once Again
For the sixth time in eight seasons at Hawthorne Race Course program handicapper, Frog Dooley, showed a nice profit in his daily, documented, wagering column. For the 2008 season, Frog showed a profit of $752.50 for his wagers on the 39 day race meet. The numbers break down as follows:
ORIGINAL BANKROLL: $2,500
Every night in the Hawthorne program the Frog Dooley column would analyze about 4 or 5 races on the card and make wagers with his mythical bankroll that began the meet at $2,500. The majority of Frog’s wagers were exacta boxes, trifecta keys and straight up win and place bets. His column would then explain how each night’s previous wagers turned out and how his bankroll stood after those wagers. His unique column has been a popular feature in Hawthorne’s official race program for the past eight seasons of summertime harness racing at the Illinois race track.
