Ryan Anderson injured in a nasty spill

Ryan Anderson was taken to Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois after he was thrown from his bike in an accident that occurred during Sunday’s ninth race. He appears to have suffered a broken arm. He also incurred a cut on his forehead. He was conscious.

Michael Oosting and Tyler Buter were also involved in the incident but neither were badly injured and both drove in the following race.

Mike Oosting finished second.

Hawthorne Race Course’s Summer harness meet paces from Tuesday June 24 and continues through August 7. Live racing will be conducted Tuesday through Sunday, first post 7:20 pm, except Sunday, first post 6:30 pm. Thoroughbreds return on September 26, and race until the end of the year.
