| Hawthorne Racecourse (1/5/08) Contact: Mitch Demick (708) 222-4542 Six Days Remain...Jockey and Trainer Titles Still UndeterminedStickney, IL – As noted on Thursday, the jockey's riding title for the Hawthorne fall meet became a legitimate race to the wire when Chris Emigh recorded six wins on the Thursday card. That milestone day left him two behind Tim Thornton. Thornton extended his lead to three by virtue of two wins on the Friday program, but Mr. Emigh fired back with a four-bagger on Saturday, leaving him only one behind with six racing days left in the books. Thornton did well to remain on top by riding a pair of winners for trainer Mike Reavis. Speaking of Reavis... Following Saturday's two training wins, Reavis pulled within one of Frank Kirby for the training title. The two venerable Chicago conditioners were deadlocked until the seventh race when Zoran, trained by Frank Kirby, won for the fourth time this meet. Stay tuned, it should be a ding-dong fight to the finish. Jockey Standings going into Sunday's card: T. Thornton-82 wins C. Emigh-81 wins Trainer Standing going into Sunday's card: F. Kirby 34 wins M. Reavis 33 wins Hawthorne Race Course’s Thoroughbred meet begins on Friday, September 21 and will continue through January 13, 2008.
