| Balmoral Park (9/6/08) Contact: Tom Kelley COLDHEARTEDREVENGE BLAZES HOME IN 1:48.3
Getting the jump on his rivals, driver Mike Oosting pulled from fourth as Chris Riley N (Brandon Simpson) and My Boy David (Brent Holland) battled through splits of 26.1 & 54.0. Moving to within a head of the pace setting Chris Riley N as the field charged by the three-quarter-mile mark in 1:21.4, Coldheartedrevenge quickly sprinted past the tiring leader, leaving My Boy David trapped along the pylons. After opening up a 2 ¼ length advantage at the mid-stretch call, the Ken Rucker-trained seven-year-old was then all out as he gamely held off a big late move from Fox Valley Gambler (Tyler Buter) to get the victory. Wildridge Sam (Sam Widger) followed the winners cover while rallying for the show dough. The win was the eighth of the season for this son of Art’s Conquest, who now boasts career earnings of $735,464. Sent off as the second choice in the wagering Coldheartedrevenge returned $9.20, $4.40 & $3.60. For more information call (708) 672-1414 or visit www.balmoralpark.com. |
