BALMORAL-MAYWOOD GIMMICKS PROVIDING BIG OPPORTUNITIES
Fans of the Balmoral Park and Maywood Park racing signal are getting plenty of “bang for their buck,” or even as little as a dime, at the two Chicagoland area harness tracks.
The new Super High 5 wager, which takes place every racing night on the 10th race, has been a huge hit since being instituted in early August. Since August 7, the average payout for just a shiny new dime has been a whopping $1,300.00.
The Super High 5 is a wager that challenges fans to pick the top five finishers in the 10th race. Other tracks have also picked up on this exciting new bet but Balmoral Park & Maywood Park are the first tracks to offer the wager in a 10-cent format. Last Friday one lucky fan, who was on-track at Maywood, went home $10,689.41 richer after correctly selecting the 2-4-9-5-3 combination. Over the weekend a total of $32,655 was wagered into the Super High 5 pools at Balmoral Park with Sunday’s $18,994 being the highest pool to date at either track.
Players that are new to the sport should not be intimidated by the wager since there are plenty of ways to play. For those who like the lottery style of “Quick Picks” that type of wager can made at both the betting windows and the self-betting machines. Track handicapper “Trottin Tom” gave out Tuesday’s winning Super High 5 of 1-5-7-10-8, which produced a hefty payout of $989.60, as part of his Key Plays which are located nightly on the front cover of the Balmoral Park program. Fans can also get plenty of good information from highly respected handicapper Michael Antoniades’ “Players Guide” which is free each night at the track or by visiting www.oddsonracing.com.
The next four nights of racing at Balmoral and Maywood are going to produce some very nice chances for fans to take home some big money thanks in part to several carryover pools.
The 50 cent Pick 5 was not hit on Tuesday night so Wednesday’s Pick 5 pool at Balmoral Park will have a carryover of $5,627.98 added to it. The Pick 5 for Wednesday is expected to be in excess of $20,000. The Pick 5 entails races five through nine each night.
On Thursday night at Maywood Park there is also a carryover for the Pick 5 wager. An additional $2,080 will be added to the jackpot on Thursday and track management expects that pool to be in excess of $15,000, giving fans yet another chance to take home a big payday! Once again the Pick 5 will be on races five through nine.
Both tracks will have carryovers as they head into their 50 cent Pick 6 wager. On Friday at Maywood Park $751 will be added to the pool while on Saturday night at Balmoral there will be a carryover of $1,710. The Pick 6 is contested on races nine through 14 on Friday’s at Maywood and Saturday’s at Balmoral.
Below are just some of the many ways that you can play the 10 cent Super High 5 at both tracks for just a minimal investment. This is your chance to bet a little yet win a lot at both Balmoral Park and Maywood Park!
