SECOND HIGH-5 WAGER ADDED TO SATURDAY MENU
Additional Opportunity Begins with Prairie State Festival Card June 21
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (June 12, 2008) – Arlington Park will add a second High-5 wager to its Saturday menu beginning Saturday, June 21, which coincides with the ninth edition of the track’s Prairie State Festival card featuring six stakes races for Illinois-registered horses. The wager will be offered on races seven and 11 on 11-race cards and on races eight and 12 on 12-race programs.
The $1 High-5 wager, introduced locally at the start of the Arlington Park season on May 2, requires a bettor to correctly select the top five official finishers in order. Should nobody correctly select the top five official finishers in order, the entire net pool is carried over to the next scheduled High-5 race.
Thus, if Friday’s High-5 wager (offered on each Friday’s final race) is not hit, the pool would carry to the first of Saturday’s two High-5 wagers and should the wager again not be hit, the pool would then carryover to the second High-5 event on the Saturday card.
The High-5 pool has the potential to grow exponentially. A recent three-day carryover pool led to more than $117,000 being bet into the wager and a total pool in excess of $150,000 for the High-5.
