Frog Dooley Comes Home A Winner Once Again At The Hawthorne Harness Meet

Hawthorne’s resident harness handicapper, Frog Dooley, finished up the six-week harness meet at Hawthorne with winnings of $391.70. In his unique handicapping column, Frog Dooley places actual wagers on each of Hawthorne’s live harness cards. Those wagers, along with a running total on how he is doing, are featured in a daily column that appears in Hawthorne’s official harness program. For the 39-night meet, Frog wagered a total of $7,503, and received a return of $7,894.70, for a tidy profit of $391.70.

Dooley entered the final nine days of the meet down almost $800, but a big final week, which included a $650 plus day on the last Friday of the meet, pushed him in the black. On that Friday card, Frog began the night by hitting a $10 trifecta in race one that paid $91.40 for $2. He then nailed the Pick Four in races two through five which paid $364.20. He cashed on three other wagers that evening including a $20 exacta. That night he wagered $396 and got back $1,049.20.

For the past 17 seasons, Frog Dooley has given Chicago harness fans documented, winning selections, first in Midwest Harness Horse magazine, and for the past seven seasons, in Hawthorne’s Official program, and in 14 of those years, Frog has turned a profit for his loyal followers. Once again, “The Frog puts his money where his mouth is!”
