Pretty Jenny Returns in Regal Rumor

STICKNEY, IL - The Hawthorne stakes season gets off to a start on Saturday with the first of six spring overnight stakes worth $45,000 apiece. The Regal Rumor features older fillies and mares going six furlongs and has been carded as the featured eighth race.

Arbaway Farm and Carson Springs Farmís Pretty Jenny headlines a field of eight. A four-time winner in 2006, Pretty Jenny earned over $175,000 for trainer Christine Janks, posting four stakes wins, including a runaway win in the $100,000 Powerless Stakes at Hawthorne on November 11 to close our her 2006 campaign. This 5-year-old mare has earned $347,185 and is the reason why the entry was laid 8-5 in the morning line. Pretty Jenny gets the services of Chris Emigh.

Joining Pretty Jenny as part of the Janks trained entry is Modjadji. A route horse through the majority of her career, Modjadji will give sprinting a try as well. She posted a pair of wins in 2006, with her top effort coming in the seven furlong Your Ladyship at Arlington Park on June 2. Emigh is listed on both halves of the Janks favored entry.

The top competition to the entry may come from Bluesbdancing. Owner by Nancy and Bob Bartels and trained by Terrel Gore, Bluesbdancing was a three-time winner in 2006, defeating Pretty Jenny in all three of her wins, first in a money allowance on March 18, followed by the Governorís Lady Handicap at Hawthorne on April 29 and again in the Isaac Murphy at Arlington on June 24. To be ridden by Eddie Perez, Bluesbdancing is 4-1 in the morning line.
