Festival charity softball game to benefit Make-A-Wish

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (July 28, 2007) On August 11, Arlington Park will be celebrating our International Festival of Racing featuring three Grade I stakes races, highlighted by the 25th running of the Arlington Million. We will again celebrate a week of festivities prior to the festival that not only will showcase world class racing at Arlington Park, but will also expose the racing world to Arlington Heights.

We will kick off the week on Monday, August 6 with the 7th annual Charity Softball Game that will feature the Arlington Heights Police Department vs. the Arlington Park staff and jockeys. This game will be held at the field on Cigar Avenue, which is off of Rohlwing Road just south of Stable Gate 9, starting at 5:30 pm. The charity softball committee promises another exciting event with a great game, terrific raffle prizes, a BAGGO tournament and great ballpark food for all who attend.

This year all proceeds from the softball game and food and beverage sales will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois to adopt a wish. We are excited to help Make-A-Wish and one of our own, Aaron, an 11-year-old Arlington Heights resident who was diagnosed in June of 2005 with Ewing Sarcoma. Aaron's wish to travel to NYC and see Summer Slam will be granted in August of 2007 by Make-A-Wish.

To be a sponsor, donate items or for further information, contact Barb Proprawski or Ginger Huber. Donations can be mailed to Arlington Park, Attn: Ginger Huber, PO Box 7, Arlington Heights, IL 60006. Checks should be made payable to Make-A-Wish of Illinois. Thank you for your support.
