Balmoral Park
| Balmoral Park (12/23/07) Contact: Tom Kelley ANDERSON INJURED IN WRECK Driver Ryan Anderson, the second leading driver among the Balmoral Park driving colony in 2007, will be on the shelf for the remainder of the 2007 season and the start of the 2008 racing season after suffering a broken femur after taking a nasty spill in Sunday’s first race. The three-horse incident occurred towards the back of the field in Sunday’s first race and also involved drivers Art Gregory Jr. & Brandon Simpson. Those two, and all three horses involved in this mishap, managed to escape serious injury but Anderson was stepped on by the trailing horse. The 27-year-old Crete, IL resident was transported from Balmoral Park to Olympia Fields Medical Center where he is currently being treated for the broken femur. Updates will be provided when more information becomes available. |
