POPULAR PICK 5 WAGER CARRIES OVER AGAIN

Sunday night’s (Aug. 19) Pick 5 wager at Balmoral Park, with its low 15 percent takeout, should once again provide a nice payday for the lucky fan(s) who can correctly select the five winners of races three through seven on the Sunday card.

That’s because Saturday’s Pick 5 was not hit meaning a carryover pool of $5,181 will be added. Balmoral Park mutuel manager Bill Mudro estimates that Sunday’s jackpot should be in excess of $20,000.

With a carryover of $4,724 added to last Saturday’s Pick 5 pool (Aug.12) some lucky fans took down a whopping $15,812 payday.

The Pick 5 is contested each night on races three through seven. First post on Sunday is 6:30 p.m. (Central Time) while post time for the third race on Sunday is expected to be right around 7:10 p.m. (Central Time).

Here is a list of some recent payouts thanks in part to the 15 percent takeout as compared to the old 25 percent takeout.
