Sophomore Colt Remain Perfect on Polytrack

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (June 24, 2007) – Hugh Robertson & Regatta Stables’ Snowblind Friend split horses in deep stretch, and gained the lead approaching the finish to capture the $47,300 Native Dancer Stakes by a neck on Sunday at Arlington Park. Jesse Lantz rode the son of Langfuhr who covered the mile and a sixteenth over Polytrack in 1:43.81.

“I was wondering if he was going to get through because he was in a bit of a tight spot,” said Robertson, who trains as well as co-owns the 3-year-old colt. “When you are going a mile and a sixteenth, you can’t swing out in the middle of the track. (Jesse) made the right decision. He’s a different horse on this track. He likes the Polytrack.”

The victory keeps Snowblind Friend’s record perfect over Arlington’s synthetic surface and improved his overall ledger to three wins from five starts. He earned $28,380 to boost his bankroll to $67,600.

Galloping Home finished second in the six-horse field, 1 ¼ lengths ahead of even-money favorite Harrow Land. Native Tongue, Biglie Smallworld and Grecoroman completed the order of finish.
