ARLINGTON PARK TO OFFER CONVENIENT DRIVE UP EARLY BIRD WAGERING FOR OCT. 27 BREEDERS’ CUP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (Oct. 18, 2007) – For the first time ever, Arlington Park will offer convenient Drive Up Early Bird Wagering for the Breeders’ Cup World Championships being held at Monmouth Park in Oceanport, N.J. on Saturday, Oct. 27. Fans may drive up and park at the track’s Grandstand entrance (enter Wilke Road gate) where special mutuel windows have been installed to accept wagers from 7:30 a.m. until 11 a.m.

The newly expanded 11-race Breeders' Cup, Thoroughbred racing's richest event, with $23 million in total purses, will be held for the first time over two days, Friday, Oct. 26 and Saturday, Oct. 27, at Monmouth Park and will be simulcast to Arlington Park and its network of Trackside OTB facilities.

On Saturday, the first race from Monmouth begins at 10 a.m. with the first of eight Breeders’ Cup events scheduled at 11:30 a.m. and the first local race from Hawthorne set for 12:35 p.m.

Arlington Park will open its Million Room restaurant for a special Breeders’ Cup package on Saturday, Oct. 27. For $45-$48, fans receive admission, program, a continental breakfast and a special lunch buffet featuring chef-carved herb rubbed roast beef, chicken chasseur, penne pasta, a BLT salad and a dessert bar. Reservations are required for this package and can be secured by calling (847) 870-6943 or by faxing the application form, available online at www.arlingtonpark.com, to (847) 385-7252.

Trackside Arlington Park, located on the corner of Euclid Avenue and Wilke Road, will open for wagering at 7 a.m. that day; Trackside Chicago will open at 8:30 a.m.; Trackside locations in East Moline, Rockford, Waukegan, McHenry, South Beloit, Lockport, South Elgin and the new location in Homewood will open their doors at 9 a.m. Each location will offer food and beverage specials throughout the day.

On Friday, first post at Monmouth is 11:30 a.m. with the first of three Breeders’ Cup races slated to go to the post at 3:25 p.m. Illinois Thoroughbred racing at Hawthorne will start at 1:35 p.m.

Advance wagering on both days’ Breeders’ Cup races will be accepted beginning at Noon on Thursday, Oct. 24 at all Illinois Trackside OTB locations.

Arlington’s Early Bird Drive Up Wagering will only be available on Saturday, Oct. 27.

Arlington Park – the Chicago area’s premier Thoroughbred racetrack located in Arlington Heights, Ill. – will run a 97-day meet in 2008 from Friday, May 2 through Sunday, Sept. 21.
