RAZO SCORES CAREER WIN NO. 2,500
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (May 25, 2007) – Jockey Eusebio Razo Jr. notched his 2,500th career victory in Friday’s first race at Arlington Park astride K. K. & V. D. Jayaraman’s Pocket Bandit for trainer Chris Richard.
The Mexican-born Razo, 41, has been a mainstay on the Chicago racing scene since the early 1980s. Razo finished second in last year’s Arlington Park jockey standings.
“We got to this point so it’s on to the next one,” the modest Razo said. “I’m glad I did it here at Arlington where I’ve won a lot of races and I’m glad I did it on one of Chris’ horses since he’s been a big supporter of mine and we’ve really been doing well together.”
