JOCKEY JAMES GRAHAM WINS SIX RACES AT ARLINGTON PARK

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (May 24, 2007) – Jockey James Graham enjoyed the biggest day of his young career when he booted home six winners on Thursday’s 10-race card at Arlington Park. The Irish-born jockey, who turned 28 last Thursday, began riding in 2003 and has been a regular at Arlington Park each summer since.

Graham’s six victories on the card were John & Harriet Mack’s Other Lady ($10.20) for trainer Tom Amoss in the third race; Elkhorn Oaks Racing LLC’s Bronze Tribute ($30.60) for trainer Laura Jackson in the fourth; Darrell & Evelyn Yates Ltd.’s She’s Impossible ($7.40) for conditioner Chris Richard in the seventh; Mrs. S. K. Johnston Jr.’s Sidcup ($7.60) for the Walter Bindner Jr. Stable in the ninth; and Hurricane Hall’s General Sherman ($19.20) for David Hanley in the 10th.

“I thought they all had a shot but that I’d need one or two to step up and surprise me to have a day like this,” Graham said. “Tom (Amoss) always has his horses ready and I knew Sidcup would run a big race – the others just kind of fell into place for me. That last horse (General Sherman) broke slowly so I guess you can say I had them right where I wanted them and the more horses he ran by, the more gears he found.”

The six Thursday winners doubled his meet total to 12 and moved Graham into second place in the Arlington jockey standings four behind four-time Arlington Park riding champion Rene Douglas.

Arlington Park – the Chicago area’s premier Thoroughbred racetrack located in Arlington Heights, Ill. – will run a 94-day meet in 2007 from Friday, May 4 through Sunday, Sept. 16. Arlington Park, whose parent company is Churchill Downs Incorporated (Nasdaq: CHDN), also operates nine off-track, simulcast-wagering facilities: Trackside Arlington Park (Arlington Heights), Trackside Chicago, Trackside Quad City Downs (East Moline), Trackside Rockford, Trackside Waukegan, Fat Sam’s Bar & Grill featuring Trackside OTB in Lockport, Lucky’s featuring Trackside OTB in South Elgin, Nicolino’s featuring Trackside OTB in McHenry and The Inferno featuring Trackside OTB in South Beloit.
