Contact: David Zenner SUMMER BASH AND BBQ RETURNS FOR 2007 SEASON ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (April 19, 2007) – Now in its fourth season, the Summer Bash and BBQ returns for the first 18 weeks of the 2007 Arlington Park live racing season. The Summer Bash and BBQ features live music by popular local bands and delicious barbecue specials every Saturday from May 5 (Kentucky Derby Day) through the Saturday of Labor Day weekend, Sept. 1. First race and first song each week is at 1 p.m. (11:45 a.m. on Aug. 11, Arlington Million Day). “Southern fried rock” by the band Goin’ South highlights the first Summer Bash and BBQ of the season on Saturday, May 5, which is highlighted by the live simulcast of the Kentucky Derby presented by Yum! Brands. The Derby simulcast will be one of the highlights of the Valvoline Oil Change Opening Weekend festivities at Arlington Park. Throughout the season, local radio personalities will make appearances at the Summer Bash and BBQ including two by Jim Lynam of Q-101’s “Morning Fix” on Saturday, June 30 and Saturday, August 18. Also slated to appear this summer are Orion Samuelson of WGN Radio on Saturday, June 9 and ESPN Radio’s Harry Teinowitz on Saturday, June 16. Music from a wide range of genres including classic rock, Motown, New Orleans soul and Latin-flavored rock will be presented during the course of the summer. The complete schedule of bands and food specials follows: Date Band Food Special Arlington Park – the Chicago area’s premier Thoroughbred racetrack located in Arlington Heights, Ill. – will run a 94-day meet in 2007 from Friday, May 4 through Sunday, Sept. 16. Arlington Park, whose parent company is Churchill Downs Incorporated (Nasdaq: CHDN), also operates nine off-track, simulcast-wagering facilities: Trackside Arlington Park (Arlington Heights), Trackside Chicago, Trackside Quad City Downs (East Moline), Trackside Rockford, Trackside Waukegan, Fat Sam’s Bar & Grill featuring Trackside OTB in Lockport, Lucky’s featuring Trackside OTB in South Elgin, Nicolino’s featuring Trackside OTB in McHenry and The Inferno featuring Trackside OTB in South Beloit.
