Band Schedule Announced For Popular Friday Promotion

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (April 17, 2007) – Once again this summer, Arlington Park will be “the place to be” to kick off your weekends with the Miller Lite Party in the Park on Friday afternoons from May 4 through Sept. 14.

The Miller Lite Party in the Park features a combination of live music from top local bands, the excitement of live Thoroughbred racing and Miller Lite beer specials. In addition, Arlington fans who join Club Miller Lite and come back often enough can earn a 2008 Arlington Park season pass, Chicago White Sox tickets and all new Miller Lite merchandise for frequent visits.

The popular promotion kicks off Arlington Park’s Valvoline Oil Change Opening Weekend festivities on Opening Day, Friday, May 4 with live ‘80s rock music by Naked. Post time on Fridays is 3 p.m. all season long.

Throughout the season, local radio personalities will make appearances, plus there will be additional promotional events at the Miller Lite Party in the Park.

Live remote broadcasts open to the public include WGN’s Steve Cochran, who will broadcast his WGN-radio afternoon show from the track on Friday, May 25 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.; the Score’s Boers & Bernstein show from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday, June 8; and ESPN Radio’s Mac, Jurko and Harry from 3 – 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 10, the day before the Arlington Million.

Other appearances include WXRT’s Tom Marker hosting Arlington’s “Red, White & Blues” with music by the Matthew Skoller Band on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend, May 25; WXRT morning host Lin Brehmer will team up with the band Hatbacks on Friday, June 15; Chicago’s #1 Beatles Fan, WXRT mid-day personality Terri Hemmert, hosting a Beatles Bash featuring the band British Export on Friday, July 13; and Jim Lynam of Q-101’s “Morning Fix” will be here on Friday, July 20 when the featured band will be Spoken Four.

In addition, WCKG Radio listeners will have an opportunity to win tickets to join Steve Dahl live from the sky box executive suites at Arlington Park from 2 – 7 p.m. for Opening Day, May 4. Listen to WCKG Radio (105.9 FM) or visit their Web site at for contest details.
