| Illinois Racing Board September 11, 2006 Contact: Mickey Ezzo GOVERNOR APPOINTS SINOPOLI TO RACING BOARD CHICAGO, IL – Governor Rod Blagojevich announced the appointment of Joseph J. Sinopoli to serve as a Commissioner of the Illinois Racing Board. A 1983 graduate of the John Marshall Law School, he served as the Board’s Deputy Director and Legal Counsel from 1986 through 1990. In January of 1991, he was appointed Executive Director of the Illinois Racing Board and served in that capacity until his resignation in November of 1998. An independent floor trader since 1998, he is the owner of an IOM seat at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and an IDEM seat at the Chicago Board of Trade. He and his wife Patti have 2 children, Joseph and Jennifer, and reside in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Sinopoli’s appointment is a 6 year term effective September 11, 2006.
