| Hawthorne Racecourse (12/7/06) Contact: DAK Productions Fall Series Kicks Back in Sunday Prizes upped for last two handicapping contests of the fall meet Hawthornes Heavyweight Championship for 2006 is now be in the history books, but there are still two more handicapping contests left in the Fall Series Sunday, December 10 and Sunday, December 17. With the carrot of an entry into the Heavyweight Championship no longer dangling, Hawthorne has boosted the prize structure across the board for the two remaining contests. 1st 50,000 Club Hawthorne points ($1,000 value) The Fall Series is comprised of eight individual tournaments, and participants earn points based on their weekly finish. The series culminates with the Fall Finale on Sunday, December 17, at which time the point leader will be rewarded with a trip for two to Jamaica courtesy of Air Jamaica and Super Clubs, a Fall Series Championship leather jacket and trophy. The next 14 top competitors will share over 185,000 in Club Hawthorne points, bringing the total series prize pool to over $5,000. The entry fee for each of the individual Fall Series tournaments is $20, which includes $10 in food and beverage coupons, and admission coupon and a premium item. The contests will once again be held in the tournament area on the third floor, adjacent to the Handicapping and Business Center. The dark days are Monday and Tuesday (except Oct. 9 and Jan. 1). Post time is 1:10 p.m. daily. Hawthornes races can be seen live on Horse Racing Television (HRTV). HRTV provides full, in-depth coverage of the current Hawthorne Race Course meeting, with complete post parades, and expert analysis from the network's hosts. Hawthornes spring 2007 Thoroughbred meet will run February 23 thru May 3. The summer 2007 Standardbred meet will be held June 22 thru August 5.
