Early Pick Four Carryover for Friday, September 22
$7,136.00 Already in the Pool
For the first time this meet, Hawthorne’s newly instituted Pick Four carryover rule will come into play.
There were no perfect tickets in Thursday’s Early Pick Four, so on a $1 ticket, those who had three of four correct received a consolation payoff of $132.10.
Thursday’s Early Pick Four winners were:
2nd Race -- #9 Southern Vision ($29.00)
With a carryover of $7,136.00 already in the pot, Friday’s Early Pick Four pool should easily exceed $30,000.
“Just with the daily pool the Pick Four already has the potential for big winning payoffs, and Friday’s carryover gives horse players added incentive to take a crack at one of the game’s most popular wagers,” said Hawthorne’s assistant general manager Jim Miller.
Hawthorne’s Early Pick Four includes races 2 through 5. First post on Friday will be 3 p.m. (CDT). Post time for the day’s second race, the first leg of the Early Pick Four, is scheduled for 3:27 p.m.
With an 11-horse field set for the second race, and nine horses entered in races 3, 4 and 5, the Early Pick Four will be challenging, but with $7,136 already in the pool before the first wager is even made, the risk will most certainly be worth the potential reward.
