| Hawthorne Racecourse (6/6/06) Contact: DAK Productions Stay Tuned For High Stakes Action A memorable Night of Champions may be in our rear view mirrors, but there’s still plenty to look forward to the final two weeks of the Hawthorne spring Standardbred meeting. Closing week, Hawthorne welcomes the historic Grand Circuit, featuring a series of eight $50,000 World Series stakes events, and the season culminates on Saturday, June 17 with a pair of $100,000 for the aged division: the Carey for the pacers and the Dygert for the trotters. Hawthorne’s Remaining 2006 stakes Date Race 6-14 $50,000 World Series - Grand Circuit 2yo Colt Open Trot Nominations for all of these stakes can be found by visiting www.hawthorneracecourse.com. In addition, a four-pack of Series will wrap up the next nine days. Tonight it’s leg two of the Cicero Pacing Series for colts and geldings, with the Final set for closing night, Saturday, June 17. Hawthorne’s Remaining Series Date Race 6-8 Leg Two of the Cicero Pacing Series – colts & geldings Closing night, Saturday, June 17 is also customer appreciation night with several surprises on tap for our loyal harness fans! The Cicero Pacing Series Leg Two Three divisions of leg two of the Cicero Pacing Series for colts and geldings will be contested Thursday (races five, seven and nine). Race five is an extremely wide open event. Spyware and Mr Bud Weisar, both of whom finished second in their leg one appearances, drew posts one and 11 (second tier) respectively. In race seven, Midwich Hanover, an easy leg one victor at odds of 2-5, leaves from post ten after being claimed by Julie Miller. She’ll face off with Impressive Dancer, an upset winner last week at 8-1. In race nine, Bangkok Cruiser, a game leg one winner at odds of 4-5, and the speedy Nik The Nuke, who lost a narrow decision in his initial Cicero Pacing Series try last week, will go hoof to hoof. Hawthorne’s spring 2006 Standardbred meet runs May 6 through June 17 with live racing six days per week – Tuesday through Sunday. Post time is 7:20 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. Hawthorne’s fall 2006 Thoroughbred meet runs September 15 through December 31 with live racing five days per week: Wednesday through Sunday.
