She “Eyes” the Victory, Then Gets It

Easy On The Eyes assumed command just before the half and never looked back as the 4-year-old daughter of The Panderosa captured the featured $15,500 Filly and Mare Open Pace at Hawthorne on Sunday night.

The Paul Stafford trainee ran into road trouble the week before and was impeded in the late going while finishing third, less than a length behind the winner. This week, driver Ryan Anderson took no chances as he rolled Easy On The Eyes to the lead right at the :56.1 half and then matched that half in the 1:52.2 score. Madura came on late to finish second, three parts of a length behind the winner, while Sightings came from last to garner third money.

Also featured on the Sunday card were three divisions of leg two of the Forest View Pacing Series. Winning the first $4,500 division was Fluff O Macktic as driver Andy Miller guided the Armbro Mackintosh filly to a 4 length victory over Angela’s Rose in 1:54.3.

Division two went to Sandra Hotspur (Brent Holland) in 1:56.2 as the Cole Muffler returned ready after being scratched sick in leg one. Eeny Rellim was a length and a half back in second.

The final division went to Fox Valley Octavia as Tim Tetrick guided the 3-5 favorite to a 3-length victory over Park It Meself in 1:55.2. All three winners will slug it out and be among the top ten money earners from the two legs of series action as all will be sorted out in next Tuesday’s $15,000 est. Final.
