Sunday night’s second leg of the Eddie Oakley attracted a new contender. Former Dygert winner, Lifes A Holiday, is back after having to be scratched from the Muscles Marinara Final two weeks ago. He has yet to visit the charmed circle from 13 starts in 2006, but he has been in the thick of the battle almost every time. He checked in second behind the classy Victor’s Pursuit in the Muscles Marinara elim here earlier in the meet, but is quite capable of turning the tables in this race.
Victor’s Pursuit, seeking his second straight victory and his fifth from six races this year, won Leg 1 of the Eddie Oakley with a dramatic stretch move, and he will likely be favored to repeat. Other top trotters entered in tonight’s fourth race include: The Vicster, Battleshoe Victor and Arcola.
The Sunday evening program kicks off with a wide open Filly and Mare Open, in which Sightings may garner the favoritism over Harmony Oaks Gi Gi, Madura and Taylor Wailer.
Also on the Sunday docket are three splits of Leg One of the Forest View Pacing Series (races 7, 9 and 11) for “fillies and mares who are non-winners of two extended pari-mutuel races or $12,500 (ICF $15,000) lifetime as of 5-1-06 to be claimed for $6,500.”
