HAWTHORNE RACE COURSE
| Hawthorne Racecourse (5/12/06) Contact: DAK Productions Mini Me Comes Back Home After battling with top pacers from around the country the majority of his career, Mini Me, the 2001 and 2003 Illinois Horse of the Year, returns to compete in his home state on Saturday night at Hawthorne Race Course. A career earner of over $1.1 million in his illustrious career, the 7-year-old gelded son of Incredible Finale is one of only ten Prairie State Standardbreds to eclipse the million-dollar earnings plateau. Owned by Robert and Linda Grider and Roger and Dawn Samson of Illinois and trained by Merle La Fountaine, Mini Me has won two of three starts this season while competing at Hazel Park in Michigan. He is entered to race in Saturday nights eighth race at Hawthorne, a non-winners of $7,500 in the last five starts event. He drew post position number four, and will be guided by Dale Hiteman. Hawthornes spring 2006 Standardbred meet runs May 6 through June 17 with live racing six days per week: Tuesday through Sunday. Post time is 7:20 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, and opening day, Saturday May 6 (special early post). Hawthornes fall 2006 Thoroughbred meet runs September 15 through December 31 with live racing five days per week: Wednesday through Sunday.
