LOS ANGELES, March 17 – TVG, the interactive horseracing network, announced today that it has reached an agreement with Hawthorne National, L.L.C. for the exclusive television and interactive wagering rights for the National Jockey Club, Suburban Downs and Hawthorne Racecourse live race meetings conducted in suburban Chicago.

Hawthorne is in the midst of a 67-day spring Thoroughbred race meet that will feature the Grade II, $500,000 Illinois Derby on April 8. Hawthorne also hosts a fall Thoroughbred meet from September 15-December 31, highlighted by the Grade II, $500,000 Hawthorne Gold Cup as well as a summer harness meet from May 6-June 17. All Hawthorne meets will receive priority placement on TVG’s television network.

TVG, a subsidiary of Gemstar – TV Guide International, Inc., has exclusive agreements for television and interactive wagering with the following racetracks: Aqueduct, Arlington Park, Belmont Park, Calder, Churchill Downs, Del Mar, Ellis Park, Emerald Downs, Fair Grounds, Fairplex Park, Hawthorne, Hollywood Park, Hoosier Park, Keeneland, Los Alamitos, Oak Tree at Santa Anita, Prairie Meadows, Ruidoso Downs, Saratoga Raceway, Saratoga Race Course, Turf Paradise, Turfway Park and Zia Park.
