| Balmoral Park (12/19/06) Contact: Tom Kelley CHICKY DEE CRUISES IN INCREDIBLE FINALE SERIES FINAL
Employing the same tactics she used in her leg two score last week, Harvey Garecht and R.W. Mateer’s Chicky Dee stormed right to the top and made every call a winning one in 1:55.4. Well handled by the red-hot Mike Oosting, this bay daughter of Sportsmaster sped away from post position six. Comfortably in front by the midway point of the first turn Chicky Dee proceeded to show the way by an opening quarter in 28.3. Slamming on the brakes as the field moved down the backside Chicky Dee floated through a 30.0 split as she lead the field to the halfway station in 58.3. A first over challenge from even-money Final Attribute developed on the far turn but Chicky Dee was still pacing well within herself as she moved by the three-quarter-mile mark in 1:27.3. With plenty left in the tank for the stretch drive the Rick Schrock trainee put away the challenge of the favorite, while also pulling clear of the pocket-sitting longshot Belle Zelle (Brandon Simpson), to win by a very comfortable two-length margin. Final Attribute nosed out Belle Zelle to be the bridesmaid. The win was the third in 18 starts this year for Chicky Dee who returned $6.40, $2.60 & $2.40. -30- |
