ATLANTIC FROST WINS POSSIBLY PERFECT STAKES

Completes Big Weekend for Jockey Sterling

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (June 25, 2006) -- After trailing the field for more than six furlongs, Arthur I. Appleton’s Atlantic Frost mounted a furious, four-wide rally to win the $42,250 Possibly Perfect Stakes on Sunday afternoon at Arlington. The Mickey Goldfine-trained daughter of Stormy Atlantic covered the mile and an eighth over firm turf in 1:50.13.

The victory in the Possibly Perfect completed a big weekend for rider Larry Sterling Jr., who won two stakes races here on Saturday during the track’s Prairie State Festival.

“It’s been a good couple of days,” Sterling said. “I’ve had good horses to ride. This horse did it all on her own. I was just along for the ride.”

Atlantic Frost earned $25,350 for the win, her third straight and seventh in 22 starts overall, to boost her bankroll to $195,150.

Leonor Fini rallied to finish second in the eight-horse field. It was another 1 ¾ lengths back to Sobresaliente. Honour Colony set the pace in the race, leading through fractions of 24.49, 49.54, 1:13.38 and 1:38.38 before fading to fourth in the stretch.

Cursora, Sunset Kisses, Cercatore and Mrs. Debbie M. completed the order of finish.

Atlantic Frost, second choice in the wagering, returned $6.80, $3.80 and $2.80. Leonor Fini paid $8.80 and $4.80. Sobrasaliente paid $5.20.
