FIFTEEN ROUNDS SCORES ANOTHER VICTORY IN TIMELESS NATIVE

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (May 6, 2006) -- Ken Meeker and Carson Springs Farm’s Fifteen Rounds again showed his affinity for Arlington Park by picking up his ninth victory in 13 starts here when he wired three rivals to win the $39,925 Timeless Native Stakes by a half-length on Saturday. Chris Emigh rode the Christine Janks-trained son of Fit to Fight who covered the one mile distance over a fast track in 1:36.16.

The 6-year-old gelding, better known as a sprinter, stretched his speed to the one-turn mile distance and led through fractions of 23.22 seconds, 46.23 seconds and 1:10.87.

“This is a pretty nice horse,” said Emigh. “The race was kind of pushing his limits going a mile, but he relaxed. He used to be a speedball but today he got the first quarter pretty easy, so I knew he was going to be tough because this horse has a lot of heart.”

Straight Line stalked the pace and engaged the leader at the top of the lane but was unable to overtake the eventual winner and settled for second. Awesomewithbroads was another 9 ¾ lengths back in third. Prospective Kiss completed the order of finish.

Sent off as the even-money favorite, Fifteen Rounds paid $4 and $2.40. Straight line returned $3.20. There was no show wagering on the race.
