Contact: David Zenner JOCKEY EMIGH TAKEN TO HOSPITAL FOLLOWING 3RD RACE SPILL Track’s Leading Jockey Suffers Concussion ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (June 21, 2006) -- Arlington Park’s leading jockey Chris Emigh was taken to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Ill. following an incident in Wednesday’s third race when his mount, Seadrift, stumbled near the three-eighths pole and threw the rider to the track. “He has a mild concussion,” said Jay Fedor, Emigh’s agent. Entering Wednesday’s card at Arlington, Emigh, 35, led all jockeys with 56 victories, 23 more than his closest pursuer Francisco Torres. Seadrift ran around the track, through the winner’s circle and tunnel, and was corralled in the paddock. Arlington Park -- the Chicago area's premier Thoroughbred racetrack located in Arlington Heights, Ill. -- will run a 95-day meet in 2006 from Friday, May 5 through Tuesday, Sept. 12. Arlington Park, whose parent company is Churchill Downs Incorporated (Nasdaq: CHDN), also operates eight off-track, simulcast-wagering facilities: Trackside Arlington Park (Arlington Heights), Trackside Quad City Downs (East Moline), Trackside Chicago, Trackside McHenry, Trackside Rockford, Trackside South Beloit, Trackside Waukegan and Lucky's featuring Trackside OTB in South Elgin.
