Band Schedule Announced For Popular Friday Promotion

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (April 11, 2006) -- Once again this summer, Arlington Park will be “the place to be” to kick off your weekends with the Miller Lite Party in the Park on Friday afternoons from May 5 through September 8.

The Miller Lite Party in the Park features a combination of live music from top local bands, the excitement of live Thoroughbred racing and Miller Lite beer specials. In addition, Arlington fans who join Club Miller Lite and come back often enough, can earn a 2007 Arlington Park season pass, World Series champion Chicago White Sox tickets and all new Miller Lite merchandise for frequent visits.

The popular promotion kicks off the 2006 meet starting on Opening Day, Friday, May 5 with live music by Voices. Post time on Fridays is 3 p.m. all season long.

On May 26, racing fans are invited to join Arlington Park bugler Bonny Brown and her Caribbean band rhumbuzzz for a great start to the Memorial Day weekend.

Throughout the season, local radio personalities will make appearances, plus there will be additional promotional events at the Miller Lite Party in the Park. On Opening Day, May 5, the # 10 Valvoline NASCAR show car will be on display in the Park area as part of the Valvoline Instant Oil Change Opening Weekend at Arlington Park.

Live remote broadcasts open to the public include the Score’s Boers and Bernstein Show from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. on Friday, June 9; ESPN Radio’s Mac, Jurko and Harry from 3 – 7 p.m. the day before the Arlington Million on Friday, Aug. 11 and WGN’s John Williams on Friday, Aug. 25. Other appearances include WLUP’s Zak Taylor twice on June 2 and 30; Lin Brehmer on June 23 and Tom Marker on July 14 from WXRT Radio.

In addition, WCKG Radio listeners will have an opportunity to win tickets to join Steve Dahl live from the sky box executive suites at Arlington Park from 2 – 7 p.m. for Opening Day, May 5 or win a trip to the track on the WCKG Metra Bar Car leaving from Chicago on one of three Fridays -- May 19, June 9 or August 18.
